Process characteristics of gearbox gears
(1)High precision requirements
Tooth profile accuracy: It is usually required to achieve ISO 6-8 level accuracy, with a tooth surface roughness Ra ≤ 1.6 μ m to ensure smooth meshing and low noise.
Dimensional stability: After heat treatment, the deformation should be controlled (such as tooth alignment error ≤ 0.02mm) to avoid affecting assembly and transmission efficiency.
(2)Complex processing flow
Multi process collaboration: including forging → rough machining → heat treatment → precision machining → surface treatment, each link must be strictly connected.
Special process applications: such as gear hobbing+shaving/grinding combination processing, or using honing to further improve surface quality.
(3)Compatibility between materials and heat treatment
Select heat treatment processes (such as carburizing and induction hardening) based on gear load, balancing hardness and toughness to avoid core softening or surface brittleness.
(4)Surface strengthening technology
Carburizing/carbonitriding: The surface hardness reaches 58-62HRC, and the infiltration layer depth is 0.8-1.2mm (heavy gears may be deeper).
